ADNOC has set a new UAE drilling record after achieving 6,428 feet of drilling in a single day, marking the Middle East’s longest mile-a-day lateral and highlighting the company’s continued focus on operational efficiency and technology-led performance.
The record was achieved as ADNOC continues expanding the use of artificial intelligence and real-time data across its drilling operations. Engineers at the company’s Real Time Intelligence Centre monitor live drilling activity around the clock, using real-time data to optimise well performance, improve decision-making, and transfer operational insights across rigs and fields.
The company said its AI-driven technologies reduced non-productive drilling time by up to 20% during 2025, while more than 200 AI tools and 65 robotics applications have helped reduce unplanned shutdowns across its operations. ADNOC is also expanding its AI-enabled AiPSO platform across all onshore and offshore fields by 2027 to further enhance production efficiency.
Supporting its growth plans, ADNOC Drilling deployed AD 300, its first AI-enabled automated island rig, in June 2026 ahead of schedule and plans to expand its Integrated Drilling Services fleet to 70 rigs by the end of 2026. The company completed more than 100 unconventional wells during the first half of 2026 as drilling activity continued to accelerate.
ADNOC Drilling reported first-half 2026 revenue of US$2.46 billion (AED9.03 billion), up 4% year-on-year, while net profit increased 2% to US$706 million (AED2.59 billion). The company maintained its full-year revenue guidance of approximately US$5 billion as it continues investing in automation, digital technologies, and drilling capacity.
