talabat has partnered with Singapore-based deeptech company QuikBot to pilot autonomous delivery robots designed to support riders with deliveries inside high-rise buildings in Dubai.
The pilot is currently underway at the A6 commercial building in Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis, where the companies are testing the technology in a live delivery environment.
Under the model, talabat riders hand orders to a QuikBot robot at a designated point inside the building. The robot then uses the elevator, travels to the customer’s floor and completes the delivery to their door. Customers can retrieve their orders using a one-time password.
The initiative is designed to reduce the time riders spend navigating building access, elevators and individual floors, potentially allowing them to complete more deliveries while reducing customer waiting times.
The robots operate through QuikBot’s QuikSync platform, which provides each robot with a cryptographic identity and manages its interactions with buildings and people.
During the pilot, talabat and QuikBot will assess the time savings for riders and evaluate how effectively their systems integrate. The findings will also be used to assess the potential for a wider rollout of autonomous delivery robots across talabat’s operations.
