Space42 and Autonomous A2Z Sign USD 7 Million Agreement to Deploy Level-4 Autonomous Mobility in UAE

Space42 and South Korea’s Autonomous A2Z have signed a USD 7 million commercial agreement to deploy Level-4 autonomous mobility solutions in the UAE, marking the first commercial agreement under the companies’ broader partnership.

The direct supply agreement, which is separate from the joint venture announced by the companies in 2025, will combine Autonomous A2Z’s Level-4 autonomous driving technology with Space42’s artificial intelligence, geospatial, and connectivity capabilities. The partnership aims to support the deployment of safe and reliable driverless transportation solutions at scale in the UAE.

As part of the phased rollout, pilot Robo-Shuttle services using A2Z’s ROii autonomous vehicle, alongside other modified and retrofitted autonomous vehicles, will undergo operational testing and demand assessment. The companies expect the programme to subsequently expand into Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT) and tourism shuttle operations, while generating operational data to support additional autonomous transport use cases.

The project supports the UAE’s National Smart Mobility Strategy and builds on Space42’s existing autonomous mobility portfolio. Its TXAI autonomous taxi service has completed more than 20,000 trips and travelled over 600,000 kilometres with zero recorded accidents since operations began in 2021.

For Autonomous A2Z, the agreement represents one of its largest international deployments. The South Korean company has conducted autonomous driving trials across 13 cities and provinces and operates 91 permitted autonomous vehicles, with more than 1.02 million kilometres of cumulative driving experience.

Space42 said the agreement advances its strategy to support AI-enabled transportation and intelligent mobility in the UAE, while providing a foundation for the potential expansion of autonomous mobility services into additional transport applications.
