International Holding Company (IHC), through its wholly owned subsidiary International Tech Group SP LLC, is in the process of acquiring an 80% stake in Marlan Holding RSC Ltd, the holding company behind Marlan Space, subject to regulatory approvals.
The acquisition will expand IHC’s technology portfolio into deeptech and the rapidly developing space economy, providing the group with exposure to satellite infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and emerging space technologies.
Marlan Space is an Abu Dhabi-based investor and operator focused on space systems, autonomous operations and advanced computing technologies.
The company founded and operates Orbitworks, the Middle East’s first private space infrastructure company, through a joint venture with US-based Loft Orbital. Orbitworks designs, builds, tests and operates satellite systems from its assembly, integration and testing facility in KEZAD.
Orbitworks is also developing Altair, an AI-enabled Earth observation satellite constellation combining optical, hyperspectral, thermal, infrared and passive radio-frequency capabilities with onboard processing. Its first satellite has been completed, with additional satellites currently being assembled in Abu Dhabi.
IHC said the acquisition will give it a strategic position in the growing global space economy while providing Marlan Space with access to the group’s capital and capabilities to support its next phase of growth.
The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
