Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) reported strong operational growth during the first half of 2026, driven by the continued expansion of Dubai’s urban landscape and rising demand for sustainable district cooling services.
During the period, the number of buildings served by Empower increased 6.65% year-on-year to 1,796, while its customer base grew by nearly 9% to more than 161,000 individual and institutional customers. The company said the growth reflects continued demand for its district cooling solutions across residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, education, entertainment, and mixed-use developments.
Empower continues to provide district cooling services to several of Dubai’s landmark developments, including Dubai International Airport, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, Bluewaters, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai Maritime City, Dubai Design District, and Jumeirah Lakes Towers, among others.
Commenting on the operational performance, CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar said the company’s continued growth demonstrates its ability to keep pace with Dubai’s rapid urban and economic expansion through advanced infrastructure and a flexible operating model. He added that Empower remains focused on expanding its networks, investing in advanced technologies, improving energy efficiency, enhancing service quality, and reducing the environmental impact of its operations.
The company said it remains committed to strengthening its leadership in the district cooling sector while supporting Dubai’s sustainable urban development through operational excellence, innovation, and long-term value creation.
