Al Buhaira National Insurance Company has announced the appointment of Ahmed Abdelsamie Khalifa Ahmed Hassan as Chief Executive Officer, following approval from the UAE Central Bank. 5547266
The company’s Board of Directors had approved his nomination and appointment in July 2026, subject to receiving the Central Bank’s non-objection and completing the required formalities.
Al Buhaira confirmed that it has now received the Central Bank’s non-objection. However, Ahmed Hassan has not yet commenced his duties, with the company saying his official starting date will be disclosed once determined.
Ahmed Hassan brings more than 30 years of professional and leadership experience across the insurance sector in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
His previous roles include Chief Executive Officer of Contact Financial Holding and Managing Director and CEO of Sarwa Insurance. He has also held senior positions at Orient Insurance and RSA in Saudi Arabia.
The appointment marks a leadership transition for Al Buhaira National Insurance, with Issam Mohamed Salim Mehdawi having continued as General Manager while the CEO appointment process was being completed.
