ADNOC, XRG and German energy company RWE are advancing plans for long-term liquefied natural gas supply agreements aimed at strengthening energy security in Germany and Europe.
The companies have signed a letter of intent covering the potential development of up to two long-term LNG offtake agreements, with supplies expected to begin in the early 2030s. The LNG would be sourced from the portfolios of ADNOC Gas and XRG and could serve customers across Germany, Europe and Asia.
The latest agreement builds on the strategic collaboration announced between ADNOC and RWE in February 2026, under which the companies agreed to explore LNG supplies of up to 1 million tonnes per annum for up to 10 years.
ADNOC already has LNG supply relationships with German customers. The company is currently supplying approximately 0.7 million tonnes per annum from its existing facilities and has previously secured agreements covering 1.6 million tonnes per annum from the Ruwais LNG project.
The expanded cooperation comes as the UAE and Germany deepen their strategic energy partnership, with both countries seeking to strengthen diversified and reliable energy supplies.
