ADNOC Distribution is considering an investment of approximately USD 1 billion to significantly expand its fuel retail network in Egypt.
The proposed expansion would add around 400 service stations across two phases of approximately 200 stations each. ADNOC Distribution currently operates 245 service stations in Egypt, meaning the plan could increase its network to around 645 locations.
The company is reportedly evaluating several models for the expansion, including developing its own stations in Egypt for the first time, working with the state-owned Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, or leasing existing locations. Automotive and engine lubricants are also expected to form part of the expansion.
ADNOC Distribution is also reportedly preparing an additional USD 50 million investment in aviation refuelling operations at Sphinx and Hurghada airports through an agreement with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation. Operations at Sphinx Airport are expected to begin in October, followed by Hurghada by the end of 2026.
Egypt is already a significant international market for ADNOC Distribution. At the end of H1 2026, its Egyptian operations included 245 service stations, approximately 140 convenience stores, 230 lubricant-changing locations and 130 car-wash sites.
