Abu Dhabi National Investment and Development (ADID) has announced the signing of a debt settlement agreement with First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), aimed at addressing outstanding financial obligations and improving the company’s financial position.
In a disclosure to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange dated October 12, 2026, ADID confirmed that the agreement relates to indebtedness arising from a commercial legal dispute dating back to 2018.
The settlement covers debt subject to Abu Dhabi Commercial Execution File No. 3893/2020, originating from Commercial Case No. 2429/2018 and subsequent appeal and cassation proceedings.
Under the agreement, both parties have agreed to settle the outstanding indebtedness according to the terms, conditions and payment arrangements specified in the settlement.
ADID confirmed that its Board of Directors approved entering into the settlement agreement during its meeting held on September 13, 2026.
The company expects the settlement to have a positive impact on its financial statements for the fourth quarter of 2026, potentially strengthening its financial standing.
However, the final financial impact will depend on the applicable accounting treatment and the successful implementation of the agreement’s terms.
ADID stated that the settlement forms part of its broader efforts to address existing financial liabilities, resolve outstanding indebtedness and improve its ability to manage financial obligations efficiently.
The company did not disclose the total value of the debt being settled or the specific payment arrangements under the agreement.
The development represents a step in ADID’s efforts to improve its financial position, with the financial effects expected to become clearer in its upcoming quarterly results.
