Burjeel Holdings has established a dedicated day surgery business platform, bringing together its four existing day surgery centers in the UAE under a unified structure.
The healthcare group plans to significantly expand the business, with four additional centers planned in the UAE and two in Saudi Arabia.
Burjeel said its mature day surgery centers are delivering EBITDA margins among the highest across the Group’s healthcare assets. The new platform is designed to improve capacity utilisation, procurement, workforce planning and profitability.
In Saudi Arabia, each planned Burjeel One day surgery center is expected to require approximately AED 140 million in capital expenditure and generate more than AED 200 million in annual revenue at maturity, with a mid-20s EBITDA margin.
The expansion forms part of Burjeel’s broader 18-asset mid-term growth program across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC.
Burjeel has also appointed Arun Lobo as CEO, Pawan Sharma as CFO and Dr. Omer Baldo as Chief Medical Officer of the new day surgery platform.
The dedicated business will focus on ambulatory and same-day procedures that do not require overnight hospital stays, while freeing capacity at Burjeel’s larger hospitals for more complex care.
