du will join the MSCI UAE Standard Index from September 1, 2026, giving the Dubai-listed telecommunications company greater exposure to international institutional investors and funds tracking major emerging-market benchmarks.
The inclusion follows MSCI’s latest Equity Index Review and will be implemented after the market closes on August 31. The MSCI UAE Standard Index forms part of the wider MSCI Emerging Markets Index, which covers large- and mid-cap companies across 24 emerging-market countries.
du said its growing market capitalisation, free float and trading liquidity supported its eligibility for inclusion. The company expects the move to generate passive fund inflows from investment funds tracking MSCI benchmarks, while potentially supporting greater trading liquidity and international investor participation in its shares.
The index inclusion comes alongside a stronger financial performance for du in the first half of 2026. Revenue increased 5.8% year-on-year to AED 8.2 billion, while service revenue grew 7.7%.
EBITDA increased 10.5% to AED 4 billion, with the EBITDA margin expanding by 2.1 percentage points to 49.2%. Net profit rose 12.6% to AED 1.6 billion, while operating free cash flow increased 9.7% to AED 3 billion.
du ended the first half of 2026 with 9.3 million mobile subscribers and 744,000 fixed customers.
The company’s inclusion in the index will become effective on September 1 following the portfolio changes implemented at the close of trading on August 31.
