Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) have inaugurated Dubai’s first ultra-fast electric vehicle charging hub dedicated exclusively to DTC’s electric taxi fleet, marking the first phase of their long-term partnership to expand the city’s green mobility infrastructure.
Located at DTC’s headquarters in Muhaisnah 4, the new hub is capable of charging 24 electric taxis simultaneously in approximately 35 minutes, helping reduce vehicle downtime and improve fleet efficiency.

The initiative forms part of the long-term strategic agreement signed between DEWA and DTC during WETEX 2025 to deploy more than 200 ultra-fast EV charging points dedicated to Dubai Taxi Company’s electric fleet.
According to DEWA and DTC, the project will:
• Accelerate the electrification of Dubai’s taxi fleet
• Reduce vehicle charging time and operational downtime
• Improve fleet availability and operational efficiency
• Support Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030
• Contribute to Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050
The companies said the partnership reflects their shared commitment to advancing sustainable transport infrastructure and supporting Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leader in smart, green and future-ready mobility.
