du Launches USD 50 Million Venture Capital Fund to Back AI, Fintech and Emerging Technologies

du announced the launch of “du Ventures”, a USD 50 million corporate venture capital fund established in partnership with Shorooq to support digital innovation across the UAE and the wider region.

According to the company, the initiative marks a strategic step in du’s expansion beyond traditional telecom services into a broader digital ecosystem platform.

The fund will focus on investing in startups and emerging technologies across sectors including:
• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Fintech
• Cybersecurity
• Cloud technologies
• Gaming
• Enterprise solutions
• Customer experience technologies
• Loyalty platforms

du stated that the fund is designed to support startups developing scalable digital solutions while leveraging du’s infrastructure, enterprise network and market reach.

The company added that a significant portion of the investments will be directed toward UAE-based ventures aligned with the country’s digital economy ambitions.

Shorooq has been appointed as the fund manager and will oversee investment activities and strategic alignment with du’s corporate priorities.

According to du, the initiative aims to accelerate:
• Commercialisation of emerging technologies
• Regional startup ecosystem development
• Digital transformation across industries
• Long-term value creation for customers and shareholders
